A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DEL PASO MANOR WATER DISTRICT CALLING A GENERAL DISTRICT ELECTION AND REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION

WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Del Paso Manor Water District (“District”), which is located wholly within the County of Sacramento, desires to hold an election on November 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing three (3) Directors to the District’s Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, a statewide general election will be held within the County of Sacramento on the same day; and

WHEREAS, Election Code section 10400 provides that whenever two or more elections are called to be held on the same day in territory that is in part the same, the elections may be consolidated; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Elections Code section 10401, when one of the elections to be consolidated is a statewide election, the County Board of Supervisors may order the consolidation; and

WHEREAS, Elections Code section 10403 requires the District, at least 88 days prior to the date of the election, to file a resolution requesting consolidation with a statewide election with the County Board of Supervisors and a copy of the resolution with the County Registrar of Voters.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DEL PASO MANOR WATER DISTRICT:

1.  The District calls an election to fill three seats on the District’s Board of Directors as follows:

  • Director Dolk – 4-year term (2024-2028)
  • Director Matteoli – 4-year term (2024-2028)
  • Vacant – 2-year term (2024-2026)

2.  The District requests that the Board of Supervisors of Sacramento County consolidate the District’s  election with the statewide election to be held on November 5, 2024.

3.  The District requests that the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters Office to take any and all steps necessary to hold and conduct the consolidated election.

4.  The District agrees to reimburse the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters for actual costs accrued for each election, such costs to be calculated by the proration method set forth in the County's current Election Cost to Allocation Procedures.

5.  Each candidate pays at the Voter Registration and Elections office for the publication of the candidate's statement pursuant to Election Code section 13307. Each candidate may use no more than 200 words in their candidate’s statement.

6.  The District acknowledges that the consolidated election will be held and conducted in the manner prescribed in Election Code section 10418.
