SSWD HIRING TWO OPERATORS TO ASSIST WITH DEL PASO MANOR SERVICE AREA (DPMSA)

SSWD is hiring two new operators to assist with servicing the Del Paso Manor Service Area (DPMSA). These positions will be fully funded by DPMWD rates, enhancing service quality and improving reliability in the area.
SSWD takes a proactive, long-term approach to infrastructure maintenance through its Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program, initially launched in 2007. This program focuses on the care and longevity of critical infrastructure, addressing potential issues before they become costly repairs or disruptions.
The PM crews will conduct condition assessments on all assets within the DPMSA. Any assets (or infrastructure) found to be inoperable or below expected standards will be repaired or replaced.
Currently, SSWD provides operational support to DPMWD, contributing an average of 120 labor hours per month for essential tasks. The new operators will increase SSWD's ability to conduct proactive maintenance activities within the DPMSA, including inspections and upkeep of mainline valves, fire hydrants, water meters, and groundwater production facilities.
Recruitment for these positions is underway, with the new operators expected to join the team by May 2025.
